We look forward to welcoming you to the CFR Corporate Factory in Pewaukee, Wisconsin for our 2026 Training Academy. The state-of-the-art Training Center is equipped with two fully functional engines (Octane and Cetane) for operational training, as well as a wide array of tools and components for maintenance training.
All courses will be instructed by Flavio Miranda, Technical Training Manager. Flavio has over 12 years of experience as an instructor - specializing in engine operation, troubleshooting and diagnostics. He has developed high quality and engaging multi-media coursework to assist those wishing to gain additional product knowledge on CFR genuine parts and products.

This course is designed for laboratory personnel who are new to the F1/F2 Octane Rating System and need a solid understanding of XCP® TECHNOLOGY system operation, and foundational maintenance. Participants will gain confidence in running the engine, monitoring system performance, and applying the ASTM Research and Motor test methods to achieve accurate and repeatable octane results.
Through instructor-guided lessons, live demonstrations, and hands-on practice, attendees will learn how to:
• Navigate and operate the XCP control system
• Set up and run Research and Motor test methods in accordance with ASTM procedures
• Recognize early signs of performance drift and diagnose basic issues
• Perform essential routine maintenance to protect engine health and data reliability
Ideal for new operators and lab technicians, this course builds the skills needed to successfully operate XCP-equipped F1/F2 Units, support high-quality test results, and reduce downtime through proper maintenance awareness.
This hands-on course is designed for those seeking deeper technical knowledge and practical experience in maintaining and servicing the CFR F1/F2 Octane Rating System. Participants will gain step-by-step guidance and real-world practice in removing and replacing the cylinder, clamping sleeve, and carburetor, while learning proven techniques to optimize system performance and prevent common issues.
Through expert instruction and live troubleshooting exercises, attendees will develop the confidence and competence to:
• Perform component replacements efficiently and safely
• Diagnose and resolve operational challenges
• Apply best practices to extend equipment life and ensure consistent test results
Ideal for users wishing to strengthen maintenance skills and reduce system downtime. This course empowers technicians to keep their F1/F2 running reliably and at peak performance.
This practical, skills-focused course is designed for personnel who need deeper knowledge and hands-on experience of the F5 Cetane engine, with a focus on top-end maintenance and troubleshooting of the new F5 Cetane EFI Rating System. Participants will build confidence in servicing key components while learning how to diagnose issues that impact test accuracy and instrument reliability.
Through guided instruction and live maintenance exercises, attendees will learn to:
• Perform top-end teardown and reassembly with proper techniques and safety practices
• Inspect critical components for wear and replace parts as needed
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve common performance issues
• Apply preventive maintenance strategies to maximize uptime and extend equipment life
Ideal for maintenance technicians and laboratory support staff responsible for keeping their Cetane EFI instruments operating at peak performance, this course equips teams to minimize downtime, reduce service costs, and protect data integrity through effective in-house maintenance.
This advanced course is developed for experienced personnel performing maintenance and are ready to expand their expertise in the complete overhaul of F1/F2 Octane Rating System cylinders. Participants will gain a deep understanding of internal cylinder components and learn the critical skills required to confidently perform full in-house maintenance and restoration.
Through instructor-led demos and guided hands-on teardown and reassembly exercises, attendees will learn how to:
• Inspect, evaluate, and refurbish cylinder components
• Identify wear patterns and root causes of performance issues
• Apply precision techniques to ensure accurate reassembly and long-term reliability
• Verify cylinder performance after overhaul for optimal rating accuracy
Ideal for technicians responsible for maintaining equipment performance who perform cylinder overhauls. This course empowers teams to take full ownership of cylinder overhaul and extend the life of their F1/F2 units.
Prerequisite: Students taking this course should have a good mechanical background and have taken the Octane maintenance course. A knowledge of using micrometers and precision measuring equipment is a must for this course.
This advanced course is designed for experienced personnel who perform maintenance on the engine and are ready to deepen their technical expertise in the complete overhaul of the F1/F2 Octane Rating System crankcase. Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of internal crankcase components and develop the skills necessary to confidently perform full in-house maintenance, repair, and reconditioning.
Through expert instruction and hands-on teardown and rebuild exercises, attendees will learn how to:
• Disassemble, inspect, and evaluate crankcase components
• Identify wear, misalignment, lubrication issues, and mechanical failures
• Apply precise reconditioning and reassembly techniques to restore performance
• Validate crankcase operation to ensure smooth function and accurate engine rating
Ideal for technicians responsible for maximizing uptime and extending equipment life, this course enables maintenance teams to take full ownership of crankcase overhaul and maintain peak F1/F2 Unit performance in-house.
Prerequisite: Students taking this course should have a good mechanical background and have taken the Octane maintenance course.
Courses are held Tuesday-Thursday from 9:00am - 3:00pm and Friday from 9:00am to 1pm. The student’s travel plans should be arranged to accommodate this schedule.
Lunch and refreshments are included in the cost of the course.
All students will earn an “Attended” status certificate upon completing the course.
NOTE: “Attended” certification does not provide individuals factory authorization to perform maintenance, warranty, or service outside of their immediate company or allow representation of CFR Engines Inc. in anyway. “Factory Certification” can only be obtained through a CFR distributorship with CFR Engines Inc. CFR distributors are the only factory authorized entities to provide Genuine CFR service, maintenance, and warranty.
All students are required to wear safety glasses with side shields and safety shoes during hands-on training. Shorts, sandals, and open toe footwear will NOT be permitted. Appropriate casual attire is required. NOMEX and/or fire retardant clothing is NOT required.
All registration for 2026 CFR Training should be conducted through your local CFR Engines Inc. authorized distributor. If you are unsure of your distributor, you can confirm on our CFR Distributors page. If CFR is your distributor, you can register on our CFR Training Registration page.
The following are required to register:
• Purchase order stating the participant’s full name, name of course(s), date of course(s) and the cost of the course ($1,950 USD)
• Copy of attendee’s driver’s license or passport with home or business address added
Registration is not confirmed until the attendee is screened through restricted party lists and the course has been paid for. Once the student passes compliance screening, an invoice will be sent. The student is not confirmed in the class until the course is paid in full. When CFR receives full payment, the student will be placed in the class and a confirmation email will be sent.
The course fee does not cover travel, hotel or additional meals.
Reservations must be cancelled, in writing, at least 60 days prior to start date of the course session. If cancelled prior to 60 days before the start of the course, your money will be held on account for a future course or parts order. If reservations are cancelled less than 60 days prior to the start of a course, your money is forfeited.
A minimum of five (5) students will be required to hold a course. CFR may make exceptions to either hold the course or move enrollment to the next available course or cancel the course. Limited seating is available for courses. Decisions on cancellation due to lack of attendance will be made 30 days prior to the start of the course. Upon notification of cancellation, students will have the choice of withdrawing from the course for a full refund or be rescheduled to the next available course. Please note, if the student moves to the next course, no refund will be issued if the student decides to cancel the new reservation.
CFR suggests all attendees purchase refundable airline tickets in case the course is cancelled.
All students must make their own hotel reservations. It is the student’s responsibility to provide their own transportation to and from CFR, the hotel and the airport. A list of discounted hotels will be provided to student upon reserving their space in the course.
